In the Cochrane Eagle’s page 7 article of December 10, you mistakenly identified me as a rally organizer regarding logging in the Ghost watershed. Let me explain my (our) involvement.

I was privileged enough to meet with a group of people Dec. 13 who clearly cared about what is or is not occurring in our town.

The NDP are certainly not showing any modesty or restraint in explaining to everyone and anyone who will listen how well they’ve done by lobbying the Prime Minister to approve the Enbridge and Kinder Morgan pipeline projects.

They have officially vacated the fire hall located in Sunset Ridge. We are at the mercy of a fire department located around five kilometres away, and a response time of around 10 minutes.

Although it has been a while since our September 2015 “Step ‘n’ Stride” Parkinson’s disease fundraising walk took place, many of us wish to give thanks to all the Cochrane and district folks who made our efforts a success.

A few weeks back, I sent an email to Cochrane town council expressing concerns surrounding the new Southbow development and had 1-on-1 discussions with a number of councillors.

Where is Bethany Care Centre? That is a question many of us at Mountain View Terrace have answered over the past 10 years. Well, let's use our global positioning system (GPS) and put in “302 Quigley Drive” and see where it takes us.

Am I the only one in Cochrane who’s unhappy our average tax bill is proposed to go up 1.3 per cent next year? The aura of self-congratulation from our mayor and council is quite unjustified.

Oct. 28, 2015, will long be remembered as a banner day for the Cochrane and District Warm Water Therapy Pool Society.

In reading numerous letters of opinion to the editors of local newspapers at times, one wonders if our landscapes can continue to supply our society with food and water in spite of the efforts of some of our citizens to jeopardize these sources.
