Kids who can’t get enough bears and are not happy about having to wait until next year for Paddington Bear 3 now have an alternative closer to home.

Some Rocky View Schools (RVS) trustees are calling the province’s commitment to deliver only 10 new modular classrooms to Rocky View students this year “shameful” and “a joke.

Snow was held for a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and was released on conditions. She'll appear before an Alberta Court of Justice in Cochrane on May 2.

Boisterous Cochrane teens looking to take over a building, be in control of all the decisions, and have their kind of fun will have a target location on Friday evenings starting April 28. The youths’ pizza-fueled occupation will start at 6 p.m.

“It’s an incredible community. I love Cochrane,” Hoogstraten said.

The proposed Bingham Crossing Costco development in Springbank went before Rocky View County’s (RVC) Subdivision Development and Appeal Board (SDAB) on March 30, but no final decision on development approval will be made before May.

UPDATE: Cochrane RCMP advise the semi and trailer have been removed. The Highway is now clear and all lanes have re-opened.  

"Cochrane RCMP appreciate the public’s assistance in locating her," the update stated.

“To be able to stand up and say that the kids at our school read over a million minutes – that’s a pretty big deal.”

The weather is warming and hibernation for bears is coming to an end, meaning it’s time for Cochranites to brush up on their bear-smart behaviours.
