The cause of the fire that destroyed the shop of a local landscaping company during the early-morning hours of Feb. 20 remains under investigation.

An eight-year-old girl is in Alberta Children’s Hospital after being struck by a semi truck in Cremona on Feb. 25. The Freightliner truck was travelling north on Highway 22 when the girl was hit while crossing the road within a crosswalk.

Cochrane Fire Services continued their busy week the morning of Feb. 23, responding to a house fire in the Bow Meadows community. The blaze was located outside of the dwelling, along the backside of the home’s garage, in the compost bin.
