ROCKY VIEW— Cochrane RCMP are investigating a reported drowning at the Ironman Race in Rocky View County. RCMP received a call at 7:55 a.m., Sunday (Aug. 1) reporting a drowning at Harmony Lake.

“I couldn’t get out of beds for days. I was crying all day,” Taypotat said. “I’m a mom and my daughter is eight. I couldn’t imagine sending her when she is four, the policemen coming and forcing me to give her up to go to these schools. It’s a nightmare— In the core of my soul it hurts.”

“The nice thing is when you are competing in dressage you are technically competing again yourself,” Jackson said. “You can look at the test that you’ve done, look at the patterns, and say, ‘I did better this week than last weekend.'”

Cochrane RCMP is on scene after a bystander reported a possible body in the Bow River.

“To work with such a community-focused team was such a great opportunity for me. As much as I’ve moved onto bigger markets, having that community-first focus has been a huge asset for me."
