With a municipal election less than a year away, Rocky View County (RVC) council approved a new bylaw that will redraw electoral divisions and reduce the number of councillors from nine to seven.

“As we continually amend or keep our first response bylaw up to date, especially when it comes to pre-hospital care or medical response, this situates us nicely because it’s the latest technology that’s out there."

“This is absolutely the best solution we could have hoped for— They deserve a big thank you for doing this for all the residents,” said Ag Society president Justin Burwash. “We’re tremendously excited for our future now that we’ve got security over our home for the long term.”

“I thought we’ve got together creative with fundraising,” Hucal said. “I thought it would be really nice because it’s been a tough year for everybody and art brings joy to people.”

“Take the problem seriously. Children and youth who bully others often get into serious trouble in later life and may receive criminal convictions. They may have continuing trouble in their relationships with others," Belsey said. “Make it clear to the child that you will not tolerate this kind of behaviour, and discuss with the child the negative impact bullying has on the victims.”

“The huge relief was knowing when I was at home going to bed if I woke up at three o’clock in the morning I wasn’t going to have to worry about where our horses were going to go,” Rich said. “Horses are super important to us.”

“Any community has its unique story. Where it was, the people that were here, how the area was enjoyed by generations … the intersection of the land and the people. It was important to capture that and not lose, particularly the accuracy, the history of the community.”

Rocky View Schools (RVS) will be applying for 13 modular units from Alberta Education this fall, to help free up space at four of the district’s most cramped schools. At the RVS Board of Trustees meeting Oct.
