Parallel Minds is the second feature film by Métis writer and director Benjamin Ross Hayden and will be screened at Banff's Lux Cinema on Saturday (Oct. 31) at 7 p.m.

Spooky stories of hauntings and ghosts abound from the Cochrane area. Here are a few from the files of The Cochrane Eagle.

“When they [Alex Baum and Dan Kroffat] recognize something in the community that needs to be done, they're the first people to step in, identify it and try and come up with a solution,” Wagman said. “They see things in our community from start to finish.”

What's happening in Cochrane this week: the Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee s fundraising for its annual Christmas event, a Community Relief Fund is open for applications, and a Christmas Pop-up Market is set to open in early November.

The Cochrane Public Library has released a ghost hunting kit in its Library of Things just in time for Halloween.

“I thought it was a terrific game. I thought overall we did a terrific job for the full 60 minutes— We played very hard and we had very few breakdowns,” head coach Derek Loome said. “The shots show that we outshot them. I think they got a couple of good bounces and we got a couple of good goals."

“While this is one piece of the puzzle to help with our … Transportation infrastructure,” Genung said.

“When I looked at it I definitely saw an opportunity— The fact that a lot of other organizations were cancelling their events … You can only watch so much Netflix before you want a bit of human interaction, and this is hopefully a way to create a bit of that in a safe way.”

“That gives us the opportunity to reward our visitors and our residents when they participate and go and visit our businesses in town,” Oucharek said. “it’s a great way to be able to support local shopping and local businesses.”
