“It really neat to see people’s creativity come out. People can carve interesting scenes, or make a likeness of a character or use props in a really interesting way," Heembrock said.

“We know this is going to be a different and challenging year for the Poppy Campaign,” Bruens said. “It’s been a hard year for all Canadians, and many are struggling financially and/or emotionally.”

“It is a bit of cowboy town and that matches really well with us,” Skerry said. “For us, the product and our brand and our Albertan roots fit this community. We’re happy to be here— We’re certainly looking forward to a long and good future here.”

COCHRANE— Winter has arrived in Cochrane, and with it comes the need to drive cautiously to keep others safe.

Cochrane RCMP is on scene at the Southland Transportation building on Griffin Road Monday (Oct. 26) after receiving a bomb threat to the building and one of the busses.

The current schedule will take the team into February, and the Heritage Junior Hockey League will determine a plan for the playoffs at a later date.
