ALBERTA— The rate of COVID-19 hospitalizations and intensive care unit admissions continue to remain relatively low in the province. In a press release Sunday (May 10) the province reported 96 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta.

Alberta RCMP share some tips for motorcyclists.

“We’ve talked a lot with staff about the need for flexibility and understanding that it is not business as usual,” Superintendent Greg Luterbach said.

The province is now permitting travel to summer homes, cabins and cottages within Alberta, although local community guidelines should still be followed.

Complaint leads to multiple arrests for alleged drug trafficking and firearm possession.

“We knew going in, it was going to be a phased approach,” Cochrane Dental owner and dentist Dean DeBiasio said. “It’s a responsible and safe way to start opening again.”

“A lot of these put their lives on the line every day for us but we maybe run the danger after a while of taking them for granted— I never want that to be the case with me.”

“It is encouraging to see these numbers coming down from last week because it means fewer people are experiencing severe outcomes from this virus. It means our health system has the capacity to handle potential additional COVID-19 cases if needed."

The Cochrane Jeepers will be hosting a food drive this Sunday for the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.
