After a stellar first year in women’s bobsleigh, Cochrane native and Team Alberta member Janine McCue is looking to make an even bigger splash this time around.

Despite a valiant effort, St. Timothy School Thunder girls soccer team were defeated 3-1 by Crescent Heights Cowboys in the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association (CSHSAA) Division 3 varsity girl’s City Championship game on Oct. 23.

Cochrane High School Cobras started their Rocky View Sports Association play-offs campaign with a bang at home, beating Springbank Community High School Phoenix 46-7 on Oct. 24.

An excellent fourth-quarter performance from Bow Valley Bobcats saw them edge Springbank Community High School Phoenix 11-7 on Oct. 13 to record their first win of the Rocky View Sports Association regular-season.

The Cochrane Curling Club’s new Mixed-Doubles league got underway Oct. 15. This variation on traditional curling has been gaining headway in recent years, and is now played in 35 nations around the world, as well as at world championship level.

The Cochrane High School Cobras finished the Rocky View Sports Association regular-season undefeated, delivering an all-conquering performance in a 64-7 victory over cross-town rivals Bow Valley Bobcats on Oct. 17.

The more they play, the more they win. Cochrane Generals extended their unbeaten streak to 6-0 to start the Heritage Junior Hockey League season with road wins in Strathmore and Medicine Hat. Gens handled Wheatland Kings 9-3 in Strathmore on Oct.
