Special Olympics Alberta is looking to resume programming after COVID-19 suspended the organization's activities. Here in Cochrane, the plan is being finalized and programming should resume shortly.

Althought the season ended for Cochrane Minor Soccer on Thursday (Aug. 27), the ball keeps rolling for the club, as they gear up for their fall and winter programming, which will feature competitve games within a cohort.

"There is definitely going to be a 24-game season regardless of what happens. If it happens in November, if it happens December 1 we can still finish the 24-game season.”

Travis Cummings won Athletics Alberta's 2019 Grassroots Coach of the Year Award for his unique approach to coaching, and significant contributions to cross-country and track and field.

Two-time Olympian Tory Nyhaug, and 2019 Canadian National Champion, James Palmer hosted Cochrane BMX's annual summer camp on Saturday (Aug. 22) and Sunday (Aug. 23).

“Hopefully people see this as a sign of what Bike Cochrane is able to achieve.”

It was a bittersweet victory for the Cochrane Crush, which walked away from this season with a championship but had its season cut short due to COVID-19.
