St. Timothy Thunder cross-country star Josh Novak earned some valuable experience at the Cross Country National Championships in Kingston, Ont., on Nov. 24 and 25.

The Cochrane Generals Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde type season continued on Nov. 17 and 18, where they lost against the Stettler Lightning 7-2, but came back the following night and defeated the league leading Airdrie Techmation Thunder 5-2.

The Cochrane Super Seniors Bonspiel will be held in from Nov. 22 to 25 at the new curling facility in Spray Lake Sawmill Family Sports Centre.

Hockey Alberta has named their coaches for the hockey squads competing in the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, with Carla MacLeod coaching the Under-18 Female team, and Serge Lajoie as head coach of the Under-16 Male team.

All four Cochrane High school volleyball teams had a very successful Zone Championships at various locations across Alberta during Nov. 17 and 18. The Cobras junior boys team won the South Central Zones on Nov. 18 when defeating W.H.

The Cochrane Cobras will have a chance to win their fourth straight Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) provincial title on Nov.

The Cochrane Chaos women’s junior hockey team is on a hot streak. The team has won four of their last five games, and currently sits second in the league with an 8-3 record behind the 11-1 Central Alberta Amazons.

Former St. Timothy Thunder cross-country star Sophia Nowicki placed third at the College National Cross Country Championships with an unofficial time of 22:01 in the six-kilometer race in Blainville, Que., on Nov. 11.

The first-ranked Cochrane Cobras football team has advanced to the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association (ASAA) Provincial Tier Three South Regional Finals after defeating the eighth-ranked Brooks Buffalos 30-0 on Nov. 11 in Brooks.

It was a very successful season for Cochrane high school volleyball, as all four of the Cobra teams won medals as well as one Bow Valley during the Rocky View Sports Association (RVSA) Divisional Championships that took place on Nov. 8.
