I was intrigued this week of a press report quoting council candidate Bella Fallis and long time rancher and resident Stu Bradley about the need to rethink the use of the lower bench lands and the rodeo grounds, which occupy this area.

I, as well as many residents from the Bethany Care Centre, attended a council candidate meeting here at the centre and Ross Watson has been the only council member to come and answer many questions. Does this mean that old people don’t count? G.

In regards to the letter titled ‘We support Morgan Nagel,” I can’t believe the amount of whining coming from some people in Sunset Ridge. You live in an urban area where cars, motorbikes, kids and all sorts of things create some noise.

I do wish that more people could come to Rocky View County council meetings on Tuesdays to see the antics that occur so regularly, but I do understand that most people have other commitments. The Sept. 12 council meeting was full of such antics.

I recently received an email, "Open for Business," from Morgan Nagel who is standing for re-election on town council.

Another fantastic Community Event! Thanks to everyone who came out to the Cochrane Outhouse Races this past Saturday. We had a fantastic day! 28 teams ran with the Cochrane Cobras wiping out the Jeff Genung team for first place.

Now that the young adult families have their swimming pool, it is time for the Town of Cochrane to show some respect to our seniors and move Seniors on the Bow to a much needed seniors’ centre.

It is municipal election time again and we support Morgan Nagel for re-election to town council and following is why. During the past two years the pace of growth in Cochrane has resulted in many issues for council to deal with.

This past week, Cochrane Parks smashed out huge swaths of natural beauty in Riverfront Park, cutting down areas of wild flowers and natural habitat.

I would like to thank all those who had a hand in helping the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sport Centre expansion come to fruition.
