A recent editorial in the Cochrane Eagle (“Should the town ban pesticides?” June 29) hits the mark. Residents are understandably concerned about the non-essential application of chemical pesticides.

On June 13th, at the same time as Rocky View Council approved a delay to the Aggregate Resource Plan, it opened the flood gates for gravel applications to rush through under what they acknowledge are weak existing performance standards.

I too live in Glenbow, backing on the Big Hill Creek and the pathway. Footstock took over for two days and it was terrific. The letter last week really bothered me and I'm sure the people involved in Footstock.
