Mr. Jerry Arshinoff, councillor Division 2, Rocky View County, complains about the council defeating his motion(s) about a voters list for Rocky View County elections (Aug. 4 Cochrane Eagle).

"Once again, the many Cochrane and district families who deal with Parkinson disease are seeking assistance in our annual 'Step 'n Stride' fundraising event which is significant for our ongoing effort toward research and care within Alberta.

I made a new friend outside The Gentry Espresso Bar the other day. He’s only three months old, but, wow, what a fan club he already has. He’s even brought emotional healing to some.

Reading the recent letter from Theresa Kline, I could not help but point out that the intersection of Highway 22 and 1A is a provincial responsibility, not a municipal responsibility.

The juxtaposition of Mayor Ivan Booker’s and Councillor Morgan Nagel’s viewpoints on the effects of a freeze on development calls for thoughtful responses from citizens of Cochrane.

I read with dismay and resignation that once again, the decision to build a wavepool by the current set of town councillors (save for Morgan Nagel) trumps actual issues facing almost all Cochranites.

I want to thank a wonderful couple and son that helped my son when he was hurt at the Cochrane Skateboard Park on Wednesday July 20, 2016. Through your quick actions his injury was not as bad as it could have been.

Last week in the Eagle Nielle Hawkwood stated “Ideology has nothing to do with efforts to reduce the effects of climate changing burning of fossil fuels.” Nothing could be further from the truth.

Over the past couple of months, the Eagle has reported a number of vehicle thefts and home break-ins in town.
