Miranda Rosin, the MLA for Banff-Kananaskis, was one of 16 UCP elected officials who signed a letter in opposition to the recently announced provincial public health restrictions.

“Grassfire season is really the perfect storm for Cochrane because we can get it coming from any direction. We just have to be super careful," Avery said. “We need days of rain to green everything up and then we can lessen the fire ban. There’s not a lick of green grass anywhere— We’re in the perfect storm right now so we have to be extremely diligent in what we do.”

“My suspicion is that there are probably large sections of our community that are not benefiting and we’re hoping to shed some light on those as well."

“It’s saving lives, creating organ donor awareness and registrations across our country and helping out anyone we can help,” said Logan's father Toby Boulet.

The Town of Cochrane reported 83 active cases of COVID-19 as of the end of the day Monday (April 5). To date, the town has reported 467 cases— Two people have died and 382 people have recovered.

“It attracts a different person. Yes, the locals from Cochrane come to the trade show, and they’re more than welcome, but also there are people that come from all over the place, whether it be Cremona, or Bragg Creek or Redwood Meadows, communities like that. They come into Cochrane and they go to one of our restaurants, or one of our stores as well."

Graduation is looming ever closer, and high school administrators have begun setting tentative plans to host ceremonies to recognize student's achievements.

“If we get exposed on a call and then we come back to the fire hall, then we’re exposing an entire platoon, which would be devastating for Cochrane Fire Services. If we lost an entire platoon, we would make it work, but it would be difficult on us for sure."
