Volunteer recognition and social infrastructure are at the forefront of incumbent Coun. Ross Watson’s campaign platform.

The current council has not kept up with the infrastructure and the growth of the town, and the next council will have to deal with the severe lack of infrastructure.

It is one thing to talk about being fiscally responsible and keeping taxes low, however it’s quite another to live and experience it.

“Ensuring fiscal responsibility must begin with financial transparency, doing the business of the town in the open for all to see. Transparency in government spending, making facts and figures public will have real consequences.

I served two terms as Cochrane councillor during 1980s and I heard there was a $1 million surplus. During that period, I was heavily involved in Public Works Planning /Development and Recreation. Following are the steps that l practiced: 1.
