A recent article (“Why can't we be part of the normal?” – April 28) related the bittersweet news that Gay-Straight-Alliance club at Cochrane High has felt comfortable to be more open about its activities.

It is human nature to judge a book by its cover. We do it all the time in regards to most things in life. Today I am talking about this trait in the literal sense.

Regarding Cochrane Eagle, May 5, 2016 “Newspaper promotes the lie,” there are lies and then there is ignorance. During biblical times, there were no instruments such as CAT Scans and MRIs.

Mr. Carbert’s letter concerning his views on homosexuality based on the Bible contain an important truth.

It was refreshing to witness freedom of speech in your newspaper regarding the letter "newspaper promotes the lie." No matter what peoples’ opinions are, we live in a country that we are free to have one.

I, for one, commend Lyle Carbert on having the great courage to express his opinion. I suspect that the majority of feedback to his letter will be on the negative side.

'We would like to thank everyone who stopped by our yard sale on Quigley Close last Saturday. The proceeds from the yard sale were donated to the Red Cross in support of Fort McMurray. We raised $349.65 and the donation was made online the same day.

I'm requesting some kind of law enforcement control/monitoring of the traffic on Glenbow Drive. I'm hoping that there are other residents living on or near this area that are as fed up as I am and ready to speak up.

In Cochrane, people tend to know me as a marathon runner and someone who advocates living a healthy lifestyle. This means that I often get comments about what races people have run, what they are training for and other general comments about fitness.
