At our last town council meeting we banned garburators from Cochrane. Banning garburators in Cochrane was a ridiculous decision. This ban was motivated by a belief that reducing waste in our sinks would be good for the environment.

Sometimes my sense of community surprises me. It humbles me when I’m in a hall with generations of ranchers paying tribute and farewell to one of their own.

Further to the story “Cochrane Historical Museum gears up for 2016 season” in the Feb. 25 edition of the Cochrane Eagle: at 7 p.m.

On Feb. 23, Rocky View County (RVC) council put forward a motion based on recommendations from the Feb. 2 Policy and Priorities Committee, regarding information presented by the DontDamnSpringbank group.

It’s good that the town is actively trying to accommodate dog owners as it relates to off-leash dog areas. And I am sure that dog owners appreciate it.

The actions of Rocky View County council in regards to “exploring developer interest in the CDAS (Cochrane and District Agriculture Society) grounds” have roused my curiosity. Several questions come to mind.

First of all, I would like to thank Cochrane town Coun. Jeff Toews for championing the trial shared-space off-leash park pilot project in the Sunset neighbourhood.

As a former event planner, I understand the challenges and hurdles that an organizer is faced with in regards to creating a memorable event.

I would like to give kudos to our wonderful medical system in this country. I had a heart attack last Tuesday, and from the urgent care centre in Cochrane, to Ambulance, to Foothills Medical Centre it couldn’t have been better.
