What's happening in Cochrane this week: The Cochrane and Area Humane Society's Hair of the Dog fundraiser was a resounding success, Jaipur Indian Cuisine is hosting its annual Christmas Treats event, and Mehtab East Indian Cuisine is proving hot meals for those in need.

COCHRANE— The number of active COVID-19 cases in Cochrane has increased. On Wednesday (Dec. 23) the town had a reported 48 cases of the virus. There have been a reported 218 cases of COVID-19 in Cochrane.

OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada won't hear a case linked to a challenge about air passenger refunds for flights cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I’ve been working out here for almost 13 years. I’ve looked after the CTA members as well as the Crime Reduction members for a few years working out in that community,” Savinkoff said. “I certainly look forward to it— The things that I’m looking forward to presenting are some really clear crime reduction initiatives.”

COCHRANE— The active number of COVID-19 cases in Cochrane are continuing to decrease. On Tuesday (Dec. 22) there were a reported 41 active cases of the virus in Cochrane.

Although the holidays are a time of joy and happiness for many, others struggle with mental health during the Christmas season.

“I understand that we want to look after our own dollars and our own kids,” Hunter said. “However, I believe that we owe children in the broadest sense of the word and opportunity to best meet their needs.”

COCHRANE— The number of active COVID-19 cases in Cochrane has dropped to 44. On Monday (Dec. 21) the town had a reported 44 active cases of COVID-19.
