I grew up on a farm in Central Alberta and I have always been a conservative but not necessarily politically active – until recently.

It is often easier to complain than it is to suggest ideas. I am guilty of this at times myself but I would like to add to the editorial views expressed in the Sept. 20 edition of the Cochrane Eagle calling for the resignation of "Floor-crossers.

I left the Sept. 10 council meeting disappointed in the lack of leadership shown by Cochrane’s council members and its mayor, Jeff Genung. When I arrived just after 6 p.m.

As a cyclist who rides through the Jim Uffelmann park, I would like to provide some perspective from the other side of the off-leash dog argument. There is no doubt that some cyclists are inconsiderate.

With a fast approaching general election it is an exciting time in Alberta politics and for Cochrane in particular. With the new boundary lines coming into effect next election, Cochrane finds itself with an amazing opportunity .

As a cyclist who rides through the Jim Uffelmann park, I would like to provide some perspective from the other side of the off leash dog argument. There is no doubt that some cyclists are inconsiderate.

I disagree with Garry Kooistra’s opinion that collisions between dogs and cyclists in an off-leash park are the fault of dog owners.

Myself and my husband spent parts of our childhoods growing up in Cochrane. We both moved to Calgary to pursue programs at Mount Royal University. We stayed in Calgary for a few years, but in 2009 we came back to Cochrane to be closer to my family.

As a senior and a recent owner of a puppy, I have been very interested in the various opinions/comments regarding the use of off- leash areas in Cochrane.

My family, neighbours and colleagues that ride the existing Southland Commuter Bus support transit and urge council to approve the Service Standards and move ahead with the Request for Proposal process.
