Cochrane BMX riders represented the community and their team proudly at the BMX Provincial Series in Medicine Hat Sept. 9 and 10.

The Cochrane Generals had a successful start to their pre-season schedule with back-to-back wins over the Okotoks Bisons.

Chinook Film Group is kicking off its fall series with the movie Maudie showing at the Cochrane Movie House on Sept. 20. Maudie is a romantic film directed by Aisling Walsh and starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.

The Cochrane High School Cobras started off their season the same way they finished the last three years, with a win. The Cobras went into Springbank and took home a 35-10 decision over the home side on Sept.

The Cochrane Generals are gearing up for the 2017 campaign with training camp beginning on Sept. 2 and 3 before their first exhibition game Sept. 8 against the Okotoks Bisons.

Two Cochrane teens helped the Calgary Jr. Roughnecks bring home gold from the fifth annual Junior National Lacrosse League (NLL) Tournament in Oakville, Ont. Aug. 25 to 27.

Generals have added former captain Logan Brown to the coaching staff to help out with the defencemen. Brown joined the Gens in 2012, and finished his junior career last season.

The Cochrane High Cobras have won the Tier 3 provincial championship the last three seasons in a row, and are looking to make it four.

High school football season is officially back in full swing. The Rockyview jamboree at Spray Lake Legacy Field Aug.

Cochrane Lanes is set to roll into league play next week. Games officially start Sept. 5 which has people itching with excitement.
