COCHRANE COBRAS Although the Cochrane Cobras aren’t scheduled to play again until Sept. 23 when they square off against the W.H.

The University of Regina Rams and University of Calgary Dinos faced off in the Dinos annual Kick Off to signify the start of the school year.

The Cochrane Cup is back and stronger than ever. The annual tournament that has been running for close to 25 years now will take place Sept. 16 and 17 and will feature 22 teams and more than 400 players.

Cochrane BMX riders represented the community and their team proudly at the BMX Provincial Series in Medicine Hat Sept. 9 and 10.

The Cochrane Generals had a successful start to their pre-season schedule with back-to-back wins over the Okotoks Bisons.

Chinook Film Group is kicking off its fall series with the movie Maudie showing at the Cochrane Movie House on Sept. 20. Maudie is a romantic film directed by Aisling Walsh and starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke.

The Cochrane High School Cobras started off their season the same way they finished the last three years, with a win. The Cobras went into Springbank and took home a 35-10 decision over the home side on Sept.

The Cochrane Generals are gearing up for the 2017 campaign with training camp beginning on Sept. 2 and 3 before their first exhibition game Sept. 8 against the Okotoks Bisons.
