Dear editor: I write this in response to the article about the results of the renewable energy framework report/study and the public consultation being held Oct. 20.

Dear editor: I am writing in response to letters from last week about the pool/curling facility. Of course, I don’t like the traffic in town but I also don’t like that most kids in Cochrane are found in Airdrie or Calgary pools.

Dear editor: The ‘full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes’ decision by town council to borrow $19M for the aquatic/curling centre is both foolhardy and irresponsible.

Dear editor: I was so glad to see the editorial ‘Speedy Gonzales’ in your paper Sept. 25. I live in Glenbow and see on a daily bases people ripping past my house, and although there have been speed monitors regularly placed around Glenpatrick Dr.

Dear editor: Since 1998 our population has more than doubled, but our biggest intersection, Hwy 1A and Hwy 22, remains largely unchanged. This has led to massive traffic jams and excessive wait times.

Dear editor: Some residents want a pool and some do not. Good decisions come out of good debates. This is how the democratic process works. What is not fine is the confusion being created in the community about the aquatic/curling centre.

Dear editor: I am very impressed with councillor Morgan Nagel’s ability to stand up against the “experienced” councillors and vote ‘no’ regarding the scope of the proposed pool complex.

Dear editor: That wave of discontent sweeping over Cochrane will hopefully rock the foolhardy push for a $45.6-million aquatic centre and curling rink.

Dear editor: First and foremost, I must commend councillor Morgan Nagel for his stand on the proposed curling/aquatic centre.

Dear editor: Thank you Cathy Fenton of Fenton Bus Lines for letting the public know we don’t have to slow down anymore at Westbrook School on Highway 22 north of Cochrane.
