A classic Canadian event will be returning to the Cochrane and District Agricultural Society Grounds. The RCMP Musical Ride will take place Sept. 6 and 7 and will be hosted by the Cochrane Posse.

The top three competitors are all geared up for the 6th annual Lions Rodeo Royalty competition. The crowning of the princess and the queen will take place Sept. 1 at the 48th Annual Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo.

Parkinson Alberta is asking people to step out and stride on for its biggest fundraiser of the year. The 18th annual Flexxaire Parkinson Step ‘n Stride will be happening Sept. 6 and 7 across Alberta. Cochrane will be taking part in the event Sept.

Lights, camera, wilderness! Bragg Creek & Kananaskis Outdoor Recreation (BCKOR) is presenting the Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival (VIMFF) 2014 Best of the Fest at the Bragg Creek Community Centre Sept. 6.

Pumping of Cochrane Lake to the Bow River is slated to be fully operational by Aug. 28, as the province works to bring the flooded lake back down to 1,281 meters (or close to it) before winter arrives.

Calling all “gleeks” from ages 7 – 12, there is now a club for you in Cochrane. The Cochrane Glee Club will be running from September until May with rehearsals happening every Tuesday from 6 – 6:45 p.m. at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.
