A canoe floating down the river led police, fire and STARS ambulance on a bit of a wild goose chase yesterday afternoon. Emergency services conducted a search believing someone might have fallen out of the canoe and was in distress.

The Cochrane RCMP seized a sizeable amount of suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop last week outside of town limits as well as a significant amount of Cocaine and other drugs from an eratic driver the following weekend.

On Canada Day, Cochrane RCMP received multiple reports of a suspicious male in the Bragg Creek and Redwood Meadows areas.

UPDATE: Both lanes of traffic, following several hours of congestion since 12:30 p.m., are now open on Hwy 1 eastbound. A 61-year-old adult male from Redcliff, AB is dead following a collision on Highway 1 eastbound near Morley, AB.

Four suspects were arrested after being pulled over by police in River Song early this morning.

The search for a missing woman continued in a two-day search party last week in Morley.

Two RCMP officers sustained minor injuries while pursuing suspects thought to be behind a sudden crime spree near Cochrane. Beginning shortly after 10:00 p.m.

On Friday, June 1, 2018 shortly after 9:30 a.m., a resident of a home in the Bearspaw community of Rocky View County near Cochrane, Alberta reported to RCMP Cochrane that three assailants forcibly entered his home.

After targeting a civilian with an outstanding warrant, Kevin Lambert and his newly-formed RCMP unit arrested a man from a hotel lobby.

A pick up truck collided with a Southland school bus just after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Cst. Sabrina d'Anjou, an RCMP officer on the scene said a truck drove through a red light at the intersection of Centre Avenue and First Street.
